Learn English: A Fun Book of Functional Language, Grammar, and Vocabulary by Santanu S. Chaudhuri

About the book
If you are looking for one book to improve your English, this is it. Learn English: A Fun Book of Functional Language, Grammar, and Vocabulary is a complete package to help readers speak and write confidently. Readers will find this book highly interactive, enjoyable to read, and contemporary in its approach. This new book addresses the Indian learner’s needs and the specific problems they face while learning the language, which often arise because of the differences between Indian languages and English. This book will gently guide readers to master English using contexts and illustrations that are close to their life. The author has blended modern theories of language teaching with an informal storytelling style to make the reader’s journey as exciting as the destination. After completing the book, learners will be pleasantly surprised to see the distance they have travelled.

Using this book
Beginning with the basics, this book discusses some complex structures. To test reader’s understanding of new topics, activities within each chapter and a set of exercises at the end of the chapters have been provided. There are also nine tests covering different parts of the book.
A new language is learnt by practising it, not by memorising the “rules” of grammar. While reading this book, note and remember how English is written or spoken. The explanations of grammar that you will find in the book are descriptions of how the language works; they are only a guide to help you understand how English is normally used.
