Soft Skills and Professional Communication by Francis Peter S.J.

About the book
It is a widely recognized fact today in both the corporate and educational sectors that better employment opportunities and greater success in business pre-eminently depend on possessing soft skills. In practical terms, this translates into our ability to value ourselves; interact well with our peers, subordinates, superiors, clients, suppliers, etc.; and transact business effectively. The need for an apt book on soft skills is real and the demand great. The present book, born of years of actual teaching of the course, is a response to this much felt need.

The text is developed keeping in mind the readers’ requirements helping the readers in:
  • Improving confidence and self-worth
  • Setting appropriate goals and getting them realized
  • Improving verbal and non-verbal communication (both horizontal and vertical)
  • Paying attention to grooming and demeanour
  • Cultivating sound interpersonal relationships and developing an awareness of the customers’ psychological and emotional needs

The book can be used both as a self-help book and as a course book. It provides theoretical input; practical tips; and self-assessment and project exercises. It is aimed at catering to the needs of the eager individual, educational institutions as well as the corporate personnel.
